Please enjoy here one of my articles published about a year ago in 2016 in National Geographic Traveler, Mexico/Latin America edition, as a result of my visit to South Korea in 2015, where I had a chance to attend the fantastic Seoul Fashion Week and also see CNBLUE in concert in Seoul, as they were closing their Come Together Tour.

It had been my first trip, and this coverage, plus several others in Mexico and Argentina inspired me to start writing this blog.  Reaching 1001 posts is rather ambitious, but I am certain I will not run out of subjects to write about.

It would be insensitive not to mention today, out of all days, that South Korea is going through political turmoil at the present.  Politics are a subject that I would gladly avoid if possible, here, there, and everywhere.  But the hope for peace is a subject that I will gladly write about.

Globally, humanity is marching towards critical mass, a time when we will make it or break it.  Instability, turmoil and wars await at the end of this road… or peace, prosperity and balance.  I will never give up the hope that the latter is possible.  Every one of us is humbly responsible for the outcome.  I wish us and them the wisdom to not repeat past mistakes, and the courage to always choose liberty, freedom of spirit and civility.

“A long and sinuous Silk Road unites all our cultures, a road full of colors, hardships, and hopes. If given the chance to travel this road over and over again, overlapping images would melt into a warm human fabric, full of labor, sweat and dreams. This fabric inspires my work. Its resilience is my hope for a common road into a harmonious future.” Ellie Perla
