Post #46 – MAKE SOME NOISE!!! TAKE-KR Magazine followed CNBLUE’s members recently from Seoul to Taiwan and to Japan, as the band finalized their “Between Us Tour”, and lead singer Jung Yong Hwa ended his solo tour “Summer Calling”.  All four members of the band have been simultaneously involved in other artistic projects such as acting in K-dramas and reality shows. It is expected that either one or both vocalists will enlist in 2018, putting a hold on the band’s activities, thus converting these concerts into a rare treat for their fan base and audience for some time to come.  The base player and drummer will follow in their footsteps, either in 2018 or 2019, giving their ages. Enlisting in the Korean army is mandatory and has to happen before a certain age, so it is estimated that their careers will be put on hold for some time.  With more reason, having access to these concerts was special for everyone. Valerie Soe of beyondasiaphilia.com wrote about CNBLUE’s concert in Taipei and the two Jung Yong Hwa concerts in Kobe, held back in September/October 2017.  See below excerpts of her review.  Valerie Soe is a San Francisco filmmaker and artist, and a professor in San Francisco State University’s Asian American Studies Department.

“A long and sinuous Silk Road unites all our cultures, a road full of colors, hardships, and hopes. If given the chance to travel this road over and over again, overlapping images would melt into a warm human fabric, full of labor, sweat and dreams. This fabric inspires my work. Its resilience is my hope for a common road into a harmonious future.” Ellie Perla
